AutoArena›Free Browser Auto Battler
A free auto battler in your browser
AutoArena is a free tactical auto battler that runs in your web browser — nothing to download, no sign-up beyond a name. Draft a hero and 4 minis, deploy them on a 7×8 board with an elixir budget, star up duplicates, and watch a deterministic battle decide each round of a best-of-5 ranked match.
What is an auto battler?
An auto battler — also called auto chess — is a strategy game in which you build and place an army and the fight then plays out on its own. The decisions are what to buy, what to upgrade and where to stand it; the battle is the verdict. The genre began in early 2019 with Auto Chess, a Dota 2 mod, and Teamfight Tactics, Dota Underlords and Hearthstone Battlegrounds all followed that same year.
What AutoArena does differently
- One opponent, five rounds. Matches are one against one and best of 5 — first to 3 round wins — and take four to five minutes, instead of an eight-player free-for-all.
- No shop to roll. You choose your deck before the match: a hero and 4 minis. Each round you spend elixir on those minis — new bodies or stars — so nothing depends on what a shop happens to offer.
- Placement is the game. A 7×8 board where lanes matter: the Juggernaut charges straight down its column, the Shade leaps over the front line, and your hero is the one piece you can move every round.
- Comeback elixir. Unspent elixir carries over, and the loser of a round draws 2 more for the next — while both players draw the same 36 over a full match.
- No luck in the fight. The battle is a deterministic simulation run by the server. The same armies always fight the same way.
- Nothing to install, nothing to buy. It runs in any modern browser, on a phone or a computer. It is free, with no advertisements, and nothing is sold for money.
How it compares
If you have played another auto battler, this is where AutoArena will feel familiar and where it won't.
Teamfight Tactics and Hearthstone Battlegrounds
The two best-known auto battlers are eight-player free-for-alls: each player buys units from a shop drawn from a shared pool, and a game lasts as long as you survive. Both are played in a downloaded client or app. AutoArena is the other shape — one opponent, a deck you chose beforehand, and a match that ends in a few minutes in a browser tab.
Super Auto Pets
Super Auto Pets is the best-known auto battler you can play in a browser. In its main mode you face teams other players built earlier, and your shop is random. AutoArena is played against an opponent planning at the same moment you are, with no shop to roll — the same 4 minis are on offer every round.
Clash Mini
Supercell's Clash Mini — heroes and minis on a small board, upgraded between the rounds of a short one-against-one duel — shut down on 25 April 2024. AutoArena plays in the same shape and runs in a browser: a hero and minis on a 7×8 board, minis that star up when you merge a duplicate, and quick head-to-head matches. It differs in the details: elixir that carries over and tilts toward the player who lost the last round, heroes that grow stronger every round and can be moved in every deploy phase, and opening moves that act before the first blow.
